ETIN Training - On Monday, September 10, 2007 at 1900 hours, the Third Battalion in cooperation with Perinton Ambulance will be hosting a ETIN Training class. This class is to familiarize Agency Officers, who then can train people in their organizations to the dynamic and valuable resource, which will provide 24/7 training, as well as Emergency Notifications and daily updates to y! our membe p;This class is open to ALL Emergency Service Organizations, but we have to limit each agency to the DO/Chief, Training Officer and your Senior Computer/IT person. This three (3) Officer per agency limit is to allow the maximum number of agencies to participate in this training to learn how this system will be improving to meet the needs of your organizations.
The EMS Office and the ETIN staff will be working with other Coordinators to schedule similar training throughout the c ounty to help meet the schedules and needs of all the Monroe County Emergency Services. The Third Battalion has planned it's second Emergency Services family event for Saturday, October 20, 2007 in Williamson. This event will be open to ALL Emergency Personnel and their families from any agencies. This activity will offer activities and scary levels for most ages ranging from the Hayride to activities for younger children and adults who prefer not to be scared back.
This activity will be in the early evening and the Third Battalion welcomes anyone from any Emergency Service Organization to join us for a night of fun. We have negotiated a special rate for the Haunted Hayride, which is the only activity which requires an admission fee. Safe and Sober Labor Day Weekend campaign - County Executive Maggie Brooks and Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn announced the annual holiday weekend safety campaign to help reduce the potential for accidents caused by alcohol or other factors. All local Police agencies are increasing their patrol; enforcement to identify impaired drivers prior to a problem to help make this a Happy Holiday Summers End Weekend for both our community and our Emergency Responders.
Empire State Animal Response Team - Technical Large Emergency Rescue - Emergency Responses involving large animals such as horses and cows provide a unique rescue challenge, as well as the potential for injury to all the people involved in this rescue operation.
Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, in coo! peration including local Emergency Response agencies is sponsoring a class on how best to deal with these emergencies to help insure the safety of both the animal and the responders. September 11th - A day that changed the course of history in the United States is now memorialized as Patriot Day. To honor the sacrifices of that day, may tributes will be held, with two (2) very symbolic events planned in the local area. The first is the Patriotic Concert on Sunday, September 9th at 1800 at the Perinton Amphitheatre. This musical event featuring two (2) bands honors military and Emergency Service members, past, present and future.
The second is the Sixth Annual Vigil held at the newly Bronzed statues, located at Station #4 237 S Main Street, which depict the famous Firefighter Flag raising scene of 9/11. This moving symbol originally done in wood was re! cently ca e eternity of the memory of that day.
This Vigil starts at 0800 and lasts for twelve (12) hours, with Uniformed Honor Guards on site throughout. Prayer Ceremony at 0800, Tolling of Bells at 0847 hrs, Star Spangled Banner at 1200 hrs, followed by reflections and prayers with a closing ceremony at 1900 hours dedicating this bronze
memorial to the sacrifices that occurred on that day.
Please take this invitation to be a part of both or either of these events to mark this important day. Please also stop anytime you are in Brockport to appreciate this memorial and what is so proudly stands for to help future generations understand and never forget 9/11/2001.
