Hilton Working Fire

Hilton Fire Department

98 West Beach Road – Structure Fire

11:12 AM on November 10, 2007

The Hilton Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on West Beach Road, off North Avenue, at 11:12 AM on Saturday morning, November 10th, 2007. Chief Eric Guest, 2C16, was on the scene at 11:15 AM and reported heavy smoke. Following further size-up, the Chief reported that he had a working fire in a ranch structure. Chief Daryl Prince, 2C14, Hamlin Fire, arrived on the scene and was assigned interior operations. Quint 260,the first due Hilton piece, arrived on the scene at 11:21 AM and was directed to enter the driveway to allow Hilton’s Pumper 263 to pass by the structure, lay a supply line and take a plug just past the structure. 2C16 requested a RIT Team from Hamlin, a pumper with manpower from Walker and a fill-in from Spencerport.

Two interior teams entered the structure with hand lines and quickly knocked down all visible fire. Another team went to the roof and checked for extension above the involved room. Interior extension was also checked and the fire was declared under control at 11:33 AM, just thirteen minutes after the Quint called on location.

Monroe County fire investigators arrived to confirm cause and all units were back in service at 1:23 PM.
