ECD Newsletter - The Rochester-Monroe County 911 Center puts out a newsletter detailing events, activities and other important information related to the Communications Department, it's employees and the agencies that we serve. Please find the latest edition, March 2008 attached.

Hand Hygiene - The single most important thing you can do to keep yourself and your family healthy is to practice Good Hand Hygiene. Whether using sink and soap or waterless cleaners, the act of hand washing after touching any surfaces that could transmit germs will help to reduce your sickness potential. Remember this simple act will do alot to keep you, your family and our patients healthy.

GOOD SAMARITAN:

A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan, in which a man was beaten, robbed and left for dead.
She described the situation in vivid detail so her students would catch the drama.
Then, she asked the class, 'If you saw a person lying on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?'
A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence, 'I think I'd throw up.'

Daylight Savings - Turn your clock back - If you are showing up at events a hour later then everyone else, please remember to change back your clock and enjoy the added daylight into the early evening - When you change the clocks, change your Smoke and carbon Monoxide Detector battery

Emergency Scene Rehab - A draft document has come out of the County Committee and is out for review. If you would like to review this document and provide your comments to the committee, please contact 3rd battalion Coordinator Evans and we will provide you a copy for your input

EMS Week 2008 - National Ems Provider week is hosted from Sunday May 18 thru Saturday May 24th. During this week, I hope that we all take the time to recognize the importance that we and every member of our Emergency Service family provide daily to the communities in which we serve. Please take the time, especially during this week to Thank the people who provide this service.

In conjunction with this week, the yearly EMS Memorial service will be held on the Plaza in Albany. This event originally scheduled for Wednesday, has been changed to Thursday, May 22 at 1100 hours. While we are fortunate that our area does not have a name to add to the EMS Memorial Tree of Life, there are others that have given the sacrifice in our State and their service should be honored We are looking to host a group of people from the Rochester area to participate in this solemn remembrance. If you would like to join us on May 22nd, please e-mail and we will make arrangements for this activity.
