RFD Four Alarm Fire on Hollenbeck St.


Rochester Firefighters responded this afternoon for papers burning up against the building on Hollenbeck St. Engine 16 was on location with a fire. Command quickly called the second, third and fourth alarms. Three buildings, numerous truck trailers, and mountains of plastic and paper at the recycling  plant burned. Heavy smoke blanketed the neighborhood requiring some people to be evacuate. The Red Cross is providing a shelter until they are able to return. Numerous County Companies covered empty City Stations that included: St Paul, Ridge Culver, Greece Ridge, Lake Shore, Barnard, Gates, Brighton, Webster and North Greece.
