Barn Burning Detail – Sweden Walker Road
Saturday Morning - December 1, 2008

Temperatures were in the low 20’s on Saturday morning, December 1, 2008, and the decision was go to conduct a scheduled barn burning drill on Sweden Walker Road in the Walker Fire District. The preplan detailed by Walker Chief 2C38 before the drill called for:

Brockport’s aerial 231 to set-up for exposure coverage east of the structure
Walker’s 284 to provide water supply from a hydrant south of the scene after laying a LDH supply line and to fill tankers from that same hydrant
Walker’s 282 to hook into the supply line and feed hand lines and Brockport’s aerial
Hamlin’s 242 to draft from a portable pond to back-up the LDH supply line operation
Hamlin’s tanker 246 and Morton’s pumper tanker 216 to supply the portable pond
Hamlin Fire Police to maintain one-way traffic on the heavily traveled roadway

The drill was a complete success with the building leveled and no injuries sustained by the firefighters on scene.
