Happy Ice Rescue - On Thursday, November 29, 2007, the collapse of a elevator, entrapping two (2) employees, occurred at the Happy Ice facility, in Fairport leading to the combined efforts of five Fire Departments, two EMS agencies, SEQ ALS and Mercy Flight, as well as Industrial and Utilities resources and individuals, working together over a three (3) hour period, contributing to a successful medical rescue and recovery of these two individuals.

On Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 1800 hours, the County Legislature will be recognizing the Agencies for their efforts during this v! ery chall ue. Each agency will be honored by a certificate, with one member of the agency accepting this award for both all the members involved, as well as the entire agency.

While this one person will accept on behalf of a proud organization, we invite Everyone Involved, families and members of these and all Emergency Service Departments to join in this ceremony to recognize these efforts of both the agencies, as well as the individuals. Please plan to be in chambers by 1745 hours and all Emergency Personnel attending are encouraged to wear their dress or agency uniform.

Thanks again to everyone involved in this incident and for allowing the County Legislature the opportunity to show their appreciation to you for the job done at this event as well as for the job done everyday in keeping our communities safe.

Due to the popularity of this exhibit, the Rochester Museum and Science Center would like to recognize the importance of this display to the work that ALL Emergency Service Personnel do and is hosting a FREE exhibit viewing for two (2) nights, Tuesday, December 11, 2007 and Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 1800 to 2100, both nights.
ALL Emergency Service Personal will be provided one (1) free admission to this activity, upon showing agency identification.
