Red Knights Motorcycle Club Visits Children’s Burn Camp, Painted Post, NY

On Saturday, bikers from the Red Knights Motorcycle Club of Rochester
teamed up with the Syracuse Club and spent the day doing various activities with the burn victims. There were 21 bikes and about 30 bikers between the two clubs.

The Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association (FLRBA) is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of burn-related issues and helping burn survivors medically, financially and psychologically. The Association is comprised of fire service representatives, emergency medical service representatives, the Shriners, and burn survivors, as well as medical personnel from the local Burn Unit. The members all volunteer their time because they are committed to helping the individual children, women and men who have endured the painful ordeal of burn treatment.

14 years ago, the University of Rochester Medical Center Burn Unit and Strong Memorial Hospital in conjunction with Camp Good days and Special Times Inc., and the Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association initiated the first summer session of Burn Camp. The camp provides burn survivors with a very special place to spend part of their summer vacation.
