Vehicle Flipped

September 4, 2010

Henrietta and West Brighton Firefighters responded for a vehicle flipped with people trapped yesterday on Winton Place. 642 went on location with a two vehicle mva with on vehicle on its roof. They further reported nobody trapped and they would be checking on injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Boating Accident

August 28, 2010

Sea Breeze, Ridge Culver, Laurelton and West Webster responded this evening for a boat which struck channel marker #8 in the area of the Bay Outlet. Command reported a total of four patients one of which had serious facial / head injury. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Multiple Shootings

August 10, 2010

Rochester Firefighters responded this evening for multiple shootings. The first shooting happened at Lake Ave and Lyell Ave. Engine 5 went on location with a person shot. Rural Metro PIO, Lashay Harris, reported that Rural Metro Paramedics treated and transported a male in his 30’s to Strong Memorial Hospital.  The second shooting happened a short time later on Mark St. RPD called out with a female shot in the chest. Engine 16 responded with rural metro for patient care. Unfortunately the female died at Strong Memorial Hospital. Both shootings are under investigation.

MVA With Injuries

August 5, 2010

Spencerport Fire and EMS responded yesterday for a mult vehicle mva on Manitou Rd. Command reported a five vehicle motor vehicle accident with five patients who signed off. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Person Jumps out of Moving Ambulance

July 15, 2010

While transporting a Psychiatric patient from Rochester General to Strong Memorial, the patient opened up the back door of the Rural Metro Ambulance and jumped out onto Rt 590 by Edgewood Ave. The victim was not struck by any vehicles and did suffer serious injuries. Brighton Firefighters responded to assist the ambulance with patient care.

Female Struck by a Vehicle

Rochester Firefighters and Rural Metro Paramedics responded late this evening for a pedestrian struck on Main St at Exchange St. LaShay Harris of Rural Metro reported that Rural Metro Paramedics rushed a 4o year old female to Strong Memorial Hospital after being struck by a vehicle. The victims condition is unknown and the cause of the accident is under investigation.

Rochester Firefighters and Rural Metro Paramedics responded for a child struck this evening on Jay St. LaShay Harris of Rural Metro reported Paramedics treated and transported a 2-3 year old child who was struck by a vehicle. The condition of the victim is unknown and the cause of the accident is under investigation.

Baby Delivery

Rochester Firefighters along with Rural Metro Paramedics responded this evening for a imminent delivery on Presque St. About 8 minutes after the arrival of paramedics a baby girl was delivered. Firefighters from Engine 12 assisted the ambulance with the delivery.

MVA Person Trapped / Fatal Accident

June 26, 2010

Rochester Firefighters and Rural Metro Paramedics responded early this morning for a mva vehicle into a building with a person trapped on Sullivan St at Joseph Ave. While responding, the assignment was upgraded to a structure call as there was a report the vehicle on fire inside the building. Rescue 11 went on location with a vehicle upside down and into a building with a partial building collapse. Battalion 1 assumed command and reported no building fire, but two people trapped inside the vehicle. LaShay Harris of Rural Metro reported that Rural Metro Paramedics responded to assist the victims of the accident, but the victims were already deceased. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
